Here we have very fine sounding classic herringbone D-28. This guitar has had a pro neck set and refret at Brothers guitar repair, as well as a replaced pickguard and bridge plate. The whole guitar shows overspray and some touch up to cover a removed larger pickguard - performed at the Martin factory in 1957. See scan of that original work order, which is so cool to have!
The case is non-original, but a standard Martin case in excellent condition.
It sounds and plays great, and to be honest, i'm really on the fence about selling this one. Tonally, every bit as good as the guitars we've had and sold for so much more. Where else can I get into a bona fide pre-war Martin flagship model with true old growth and Brazilian rosewood at this price point ?
