Here we have an hardtail Fender Stratocaster with an interesting pedigree. The authentic Fender neck was made in Japan and was once owned by Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. A friend acquired a '62 RI MIJ Stratocaster from Thurston when his band was on tour opening up for them in the early 90's. The neck is a 80's/early 90's MIJ Fender Stratocaster ST-62 neck. It has a slim C shape and has been professionally refretted and fitted with a Graphtech nut and and a new decal sent directly from Fender. It's missing the Made In Japan decal on the back of the neck and you can see light scratch marks where the decal once was. The neck was attached to a Telecaster Custom body and taken on tour with the Gigolo Aunts and briefly with the Afghan Whigs.
The body is a recent Fender MIM Robert Cray Hartail with Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials with newer CTS pots and non-Fender repro mint green pickguard.
Just an interesting back story that a new buyer might enjoy. If you have more questions or want a detailed description please contact us.
