Designed as a result of over 20 years of collaboration between Paul Smith and David Grissom, the DGT (David Grissom Trem) model is based on the McCarty with unique features such as a DGT neck shape, taller frets, special pickups, and a revised control layout. Grissom and Paul meticulously selected and fine-tuned the vintage-voiced DGT humbuckers after A/B testing over forty sets of pickups. The versatility of the DGT pickups shines through when paired with individual volume controls for each pickup and a push/pull master tone control for coil taps, providing excellent articulation and tonal flexibility.
