A really nice touch for the paperwork needs among us.  It's loaded with the original T \u0026amp; B stamped pickups and the wiring and control cavity are untouched. At some point the original owner had the guitar autographed by Carlos Santana.  There were pics of the signing but have since been lost. I checked the signature against many of Carlos's and it looks spot on. Rich Mockingbird surfaced on our last guitar safari and has been tucked under the bed for the last twenty plus years.  Now out in the wild it's ready for some playing time.  The maple body is in excellent condition with just some minor player ware around the lower bout.  All of the wiring, pre-amp and Dimarzio double creme pickups are original to the guitar.  There's a pair of newer Schaller strap locks on the guitar but what I think are the originals are wrapped up in the case.  Dating a B.C. Rich of this era seems to be a bit vague but we've come up with 1979 as the year of manufacturing. The serial number is 81461.  One of the nicest touches with this guitar is that it retains it's original case which is rare when finding these old B.C. We have compared this to many rosewood board strats in the shop, and there is no substitute for natural breakup of vintage pickups (dated 10-21-66). Pots date to 35\u003csup\u003eth\u003c\/sup\u003e week of ’66, and neck to Apr 66.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWeight 8lbs 1oz\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e We think it may have had a refret well before we got it, but as you know the frets from Fender got a little beefier around this era and these feel medium jumbo. Natural wear on back of neck. Some spots on back of the body had been touched up before we got, as you can see. We are also not sure why the pickguard has an extra hole plugged up in that location, because it looks correct to us. This makes a huge difference in playability for this style and it carries the .11-.48 string set we have on there perfectly.  It sports the original Custom Shop pickups, with a bass plate on treble pu. These are the exact pickups used to record the Fuzzy album, which Guitar Player magazine September 2014 issue cited as their favorite Strat tone of 2007. A prototype I have seen stated it was originally a test guitar for the Custom Amp Shop at Fender around 1992. Obviously, it pays homage to Gibson Les Paul Special, but different for several good reasons. It's 25.5\" scale, and it's chambered, has a non-tremolo American Standard bridge (string thru) and non-locking tuners (thankfully). Earlier models, such as this one, as first appearing in Fender Frontline (which I have scans of) in 1994 had 11 'tone chambers’, which not only lightened the mahogany body, but gave it more acoustic resonance. The fingerboard is Pao Ferro btw. It's no secret that in the mid 90's, then contemporary producer of heavy guitar tones, Jerry Finn, was a fan and had many of these instruments - you know the tones on Blink-182, Sum 41, and many others. His stuff was for sale on this and other sites over past couple years, take a look. Not making claims on which guitars played on what tracks, but this is easily research-able. The stock pickups are super-hot Duncan's. The pickups included here are those high outputs. If you are looking for that sound, maybe in drop D tuning, these pickups are the way to go. I have also had a lot of success installing lower wind pickups in these guitars if you desire more chime \/ less heavy tones. I would also point out that originally Fender built these with the control plate in reverse order from traditional Telecasters. The volume knob is closest to neck, switch closer to jack, making it less of a stretch to do volume swells. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere were a series of initial runs by the Custom shop in 1994. Blonde and Sunburst had 100 and 150 respectively. This Shoreline Gold series was a special run for Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center in MD. I know because I bought one new from them (#9)  and still have it and have played in front of thousands with it. It’s a very special guitar to me. This one is 5 numbers before and is slightly lighter actually. Inside pickup cavity dated 10\/94. There is case candy, but not the COA on this one. Comes with a original hard shell Brown tolex case, which has a few stains on exterior, but protects the guitar just fine.   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are two other Tele Jr is the same color currently listed at much too high a price…that’s not how we operate.
