1973 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail Sunburst SN/381439
This 1973 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail in Sunburst is an honest, well-preserved example from the early ’70s. The guitar retains its original frets and the three-way pickup selector, and it comes with its original hardshell case. Cosmetic condition is strong overall with only light wear to the finish; the sole notable blemish is a small chunk missing from the body edge near the tone control (see photos). The hardtail bridge keeps the string-through-body feel and sustain associated with Strat models that use a non-tremolo setup.
The neck is a substantial-profile late vintage/early modern hybrid — measured at .89" at the 1st fret and .94" at the 12th — giving a thicker, rounder feel than many contemporaries from the era. At 7 lbs 6 oz the guitar is well balanced and delivers full, resonant tone with excellent sustain and clear top-end chime. Playability and sound are described as excellent; with original hardware and minimal fret wear, this instrument is a solid player that also carries collectible value for 1973 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail examples.
