1958 Fender Telecaster — Blonde —
1960 Neck — Rosewood Slab Board
A very rare and highly distinctive late-’50s Fender Telecaster, purchased as a personal instrument from the high respected shop Lark Street Music / Buzzy Levine in Teaneck, NJ a couple years back.
This is an unusual transitional/pre-CBS Telecaster assembled from vintage Fender components, featuring a 1958-dated Telecaster body paired with a 1960-dated neck. The guitar has the desirable rosewood slab fingerboard, characteristic of this short transitional period, and the uncommon top-loading bridge.
The blonde finish has aged beautifully to a warm, almost opaque vintage ivory/blonde appearance, with considerable honest playing wear, edge wear and small finish losses that give the guitar tremendous vintage character. The ash grain remains visible through the finish in places.
The guitar has a particularly great look and feel, with the combination of the late-’50s Tele body, slab rosewood neck and early-’60s hardware making this a very interesting guitar for the serious Fender collector or player.
Features:
- Fender Telecaster
- 1958 body
- 1960 neck
- Blonde finish
- Rosewood slab fingerboard
- Top-loader bridge
- Vintage Fender single-coil pickups
- Vintage Fender hardware
- Original/vintage-style hardshell case
- Significant honest vintage wear and finish aging
- Previously sold by Lark Street Music / Buzzy Levine
This is not being represented as an all-original, numbers-matching 1958 or 1960 Telecaster. Rather, its appeal is the authentic vintage Fender components and unusual combination of a ’58 body and ’60 neck, along with its extremely desirable late-’50s/early-’60s configuration.
