1981 Gibson Flying V Black
This 1981 Gibson Flying V in black is an all-original example that shows well for its age. It retains its factory appointments and ships in the original hardshell case; the instrument is super clean and has an appealing vintage vibe. Construction is the classic Gibson V: solid mahogany body and set mahogany neck with a glued-in joint, a rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, and the familiar V-shaped silhouette Gibson produced in the late '70s and early '80s. The guitar’s weight is listed at 6 lbs 11 oz.
Electronics and hardware are original to the instrument and described as having “smoking tone” — you can expect Gibson-style humbucking output and the tonal character associated with late-vintage mahogany V guitars. Controls are standard Gibson two-volume, two-tone with a three-way pickup selector, and the bridge/tailpiece are the Tune‑O‑Matic style common on this model era (original hardware retained). It will be shipped in its original Gibson hardshell case. Features: original 1981 Gibson Flying V construction, mahogany body and set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets, original Gibson humbuckers (two), weight 6 lbs 11 oz, original hardware and electronics, ships in original hardshell case.
