This 1999 Gibson Les Paul 40th Anniversary R9 Standard in Butterscotch is a well-preserved example from what collectors call the "Good Wood Era" (1999–2002), when Gibson used exceptionally high-grade maple tops and mahogany. The guitar has a butterscotch finish that has faded attractively over time; wear is limited to some buckle rash and back scratches consistent with light use. It was part of a private 20-year collection and comes complete in its original hard shell case (OHSC). Current weight is 8 lbs 14 oz. We do not have a COA for this guitar.
Specifically modeled on the 1959 R9 spec, this instrument features a carved maple top over a solid mahogany body, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fretboard (R9 era spec). It ships with the original case and retains its period-correct appointments and finish checking typical of late-90s Gibson R9s.
