The 2001 Gibson 1968 Les Paul Custom Authentic in Special Order Nickel finish is a reissue of the late‑’60s Black Beauty. Built to period specifications, it features a mahogany body (with a maple top), mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard, and block inlays. This example is a heavy instrument at 10 lbs 5 oz and was factory‑equipped with Grover tuners as part of the authentic spec. Cosmetic condition is very good overall with some natural lacquer checking and a small area of buckle rash on the back that has been touched up; it does not include a Certificate of Authenticity but comes with a new Custom Shop Lifton case.
