2005 Gibson "Music Rising" Hurricane Katrina Benefit Les Paul Mardi Gras Tie Dye #300/300!!!
The 2005 Gibson "Music Rising" Hurricane Katrina Benefit Les Paul Mardi Gras Tie Dye is a unique limited-edition instrument, with only 300 units produced to support musicians affected by Hurricane Katrina. This particular example is #300/300, making it the final guitar in the run, and it remains in unplayed condition, kept as a collector's piece. The guitar features a hand-painted Mardi Gras-inspired tie dye design, celebrating New Orleans' vibrant musical culture. Each guitar in this series is individually hand-painted, so no two guitars share the same pattern or paint imperfections, reflecting the spirit of resilience after the hurricane devastation.
This Les Paul also includes special features such as wood replacements for all plastic parts (back plate, pick guard, toggle cover, truss rod cover) made from timber sourced from states impacted by the hurricane. The Music Rising logo is etched into the pick guard, underscoring its exclusive charitable connection. The guitar ships with all original case candy and the original hardshell case (OHSC), preserving its pristine condition. Created as part of the Music Rising campaign, initiated by U2’s The Edge and Gibson, proceeds from the sale of these guitars directly aided the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast’s musical community.
