Here's a mint Buddy Guy Signature Bassman by Chicago Blues Box. The amp is a beast and recreates those classic blues tones. As per Chicago Blues Box below.
When Buddy Guy asks you to design an amp - his amp - you start by listening to everything from the birth of Chicago blues to Buddy Guys signature tone. You play then tear apart his favorite vintage amps and test and document every resistor, capacitor, transformer and tube. Then you take all that research and create the Buddy Guy Series, Chicago Blues Box amp. When your done, you give it to him, shut your eyes and cross your fingers as he plugs in........And when he asks with a smile, "what you got in this thing man?" You answer "nothin' but Buddy".
Butler Custom Sound is proud to be have been selected by Buddy to produce the "Buddy Guy Signature Series" amp. Buddy alot of time playing through Chicago Blues Box amps. The amplifiers he's been seen playing were prototype versions of what has become the Buddy Guy Siganture amp. Several versions were produced. Buddy took some time to come to our shop and A/B all the prototype models against his original amp. He listened intensly as his tech Mark Messner switched his guitar between amps while Buddy played. Buddy said "stop" and with a smile said, "thats the one".
The first 50 amps will have a hand signed certificate from Buddy installed into the cabinet.
The Buddy Guy Signature amp is a sonic recreation of Buddy Guys number one 1959 amplifier . This is the amp that Buddy toured with and recorded with since the 60's. This is the amp that Buddy used to get those over the top tones before Marhshall set Jimi Hendrix loose with thier version of it. Its was a year in the works and they finally got the thumbs up from Buddy. After touring with 4 protoypes for 6 months, Buddy hand selected this amp becuase of its matched qualities for tone and gain of his favorite recording and touring amp. The Buddy Guy signature amp is a sonic reproduction of Buddy's signature tones.
The chassis is built from custom made components that have been carefully selected to match the drift values of his 47 year old amp. The circuit is not an exact copy of his original 1959 amp but is an exact sonic reproduction. It has a new design that follows the design tradition of all Chicago Blues Box amps. The amp is built not only as a tone machine but is made to be highly reliable. Buddy has been touring for a year with these amps and has not had one failure with the amps. Word back from Buddy's tech was that the Chicago Blues Box amps have been the most consistently reliable amps of any they have toured with in the past.
