Very good condition. Purchased in November 2014 from Mandolin Brothers just after Stan Jay passed. A wonderful man, who endured all my questions since I purchased my first Les Paul from him 35 years earlier. I didn’t walk in the shop that day to buy a guitar, but in homage to the man, yet I walked out with this wonderful instrument.
It spent most its time in a stand in the study, as I’m an electric guitar player. Never gigged. But it sound too good for that lot in life. I believe Martin discontinued this model in 2016. The tone is so pleasing, strummed or finger picked.
Early style 17 Martin models used spruce tops, as you see here. Back and side are mahogany. The classic combination that is so pleasing to our ears. 1 style non-scalloped braces, Tortoise color top binding, Mahogany neck. Inlay short pattern diamond & square.
