2022 Gibson 1957 Special Murphy Lab TV Yellow Danocaster Makeover

This 2022 Gibson Murphy Lab 1957 Special has been expertly transformed in a one-off TV Yellow "Danocaster" makeover by luthier Dan Strain (Danocaster). The guitar began as Gibson’s Murphy Lab reissue of the 1957 Special and retains the boutique spec work typical of the Murphy Lab run—aged nitrocellulose finish, period-correct body and neck specs, and vintage-style hardware—while receiving Dan Strain’s custom visual and setup treatment. The instrument includes the original hard shell case (OHSC) and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity hand-signed by Dan Strain verifying the makeover; Dan is no longer doing Murphy Lab conversions, making this a limited, documented example of his work.  Weighs 7lbs 6oz.

Playability and appointments reflect both Gibson’s Murphy Lab baseline and Dan’s personalization: the neck profile and fretwork are set up for comfortable vintage feel, the finish is a TV Yellow lacquer applied in Dan’s style, and hardware/controls have been adjusted and regulated for optimal performance.
