Phil Jones Compact Plus BG-450 Bass Amp

The Phil Jones Compact Plus BG-450 Bass Amp is designed for versatility and high performance in a lightweight and efficient package. At its core, it uses a Class D power amplifier for high efficiency, resulting in less heat and reduced weight, combined with a pure Class-A, ultra-low noise preamp. This hybrid design delivers a wide dynamic range and dynamic tone response, suitable for various playing environments. The single-channel preamp features a variable gain input compatible with both active and passive bass guitars, as well as a mute switch and the signature Phil Jones 5-band precision EQ, which provides extensive tonal shaping capabilities with just five controls.

Additional features include an FX send/return loop with blend control for enhanced tonal options, a secondary AUX input via 1/8” stereo jack for practicing with backing tracks, and a line output for use in slave mode with other amps. The amp also includes a line input for connecting an external preamp and a balanced DI output with a ground lift switch, which can be selected pre- or post-EQ for direct recording or PA use. The Compact Plus BG-450 delivers 300 watts of power through its internal speakers and can reach up to 500 watts with an external cabinet connected via the Speakon NL4 output. It supports AC voltages from 100 to 240 volts, making it adaptable worldwide.
