John Mayer's vision for the Silver Sky was to encapsulate favorite vintage specifications with a contemporary spirit and aesthetic. The guitar features unique elements such as an inverted headstock shape to accommodate Mayer's playing style and maintain tuning stability, vintage-style tuners with PRS's locking design, and a steel tremolo system with Gen III knife-edge screws for enhanced acoustics and signal-to-noise ratio. The 635JM single-coil pickups provide a round and full sound with a musical high end that avoids harshness.
